Produced for just a single year in 1963, the 6G16 Vibroverb remains one of the rarest and most historically significant Fender amplifiers of the era. It holds the distinction of being Fender's first amplifier with built-in reverb, setting the stage for the legendary Blackface models that followed.

Beyond its historical significance, the Vibroverb is an excellent-sounding amplifier, offering a rich, full-bodied clean tone with plenty of warmth and depth. The reverb circuit is unique to this model and has a character all its own, while the bias-wiggle tremolo delivers a smooth, musical pulse that's become synonymous with Fender's Brownface era.

This particular example is in great condition, with a replaced baffle board and grille cloth. The speakers are non-original but are period-appropriate, mid-'60s Jensen C8609s, featuring larger ceramic magnets comparable to those found in the C10NS. While there is some evidence that a different output transformer may have been installed at one point, the original 1963 125A6A/606308 appears to be back in place.

Internally, the circuit remains remarkably original, aside from a replaced power cord and electrolytic capacitors. All of the original Blue Molded Ajax coupling capacitors and Allen-Bradley resistors remain intact, helping preserve that authentic Brown-era Fender tone.

With its limited production and important place in Fender's history, the 1963 Vibroverb represents a fascinating transition between the Brownface and Blackface periods. These amps have become increasingly difficult to find and remain highly regarded for both their sound and historical significance!
